SECRET BLACK WOMAN

by Ingrid Pierre

Secret Black Woman is a patchwork collection of stories from my biracial/multiethnic upbringing. Few people express all traits of their heritage equally, so these comics aim at what's beneath the surface: the occasional pains, confusions, and discoveries that come with being mixed race in America.

Ingrid Pierre was born in Manila, Philippines and currently lives and works in Boston. She is Haitian and Filipina, which is convenient since she occasionally draws a webcomic about being culturally and racially mixed. She also designs apps and software primarily for women's health and livelihoods.
